Here is a quick, cheap way to clean and sanitize stone countertops and have them look like new.
You need a latex or rubber glove, liquid dish detergent, a face cloth size towel, and a can of denatured alcohol from Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, or paint store.
- Clean the counter free of food, goo and debris using clean dishwater on the towel.
- Transfer alcohol into a medium salvaged and cleaned household squeeze bottle such as lotion or hair dye applicator bottle.
- Now, squirt and spread some alcohol directly onto about 8 square feet.
- Put the glove on the hand you intend to spread the alcohol with.
- This will keep the alcohol from leaching the natural oils from the palm of your hand.
- Don’t us a rag to spread the alcohol because it will absorb and waste the alcohol. It is better to use your covered hand.
- Immediately wipe up the alcohol with a dry, clean towel. Polish with another clean towel.
